How can introducing System Dynamics to your students change their relationship with math and science?
The importance of System Dynamics in the classroom isn’t so much about what it is, but about what it does for students - it makes finding solutions to complex, sophisticated real-life problems accessible to students with a wide variety of abilities.
System Dynamics (SD) can bring those lightbulb moments to all students - no matter their level of achievement. When a student who is struggling with math or science all of a sudden sees the dots connect and they “get it,” they can feel a renewed interest in mathematics and science.
SD modeling also provides exciting challenges to students who excel in traditional STEM disciplines. With so many real life problems to solve, there’s no time for boredom to set in.
The following short videos offer information on System Dynamics, the SD methodology, and how to read a Stella model. You’ll also hear from CC Modeling Systems founder and course creator, Diana Fisher, as well as students from one of her classes who share their thoughts on SD modeling.
